Social conservatives warming to McCain

Sen. John McCain is making surprising headway with religious conservatives - that part of the Republican electoral coalition he was expected to find the most resistant.

Social COnservatives are Not Warming to McCain, they are going to support him because the Alternatives are Far Worse. Given the right candidate, they would all vote for someone else but that person is non existant!

You're right, Allen. A political analyst I respect greatly just posted this:

The religious right warms up to McCain (because he’s not Obama)
http//www.thecarpetbaggerrepor t.com/archives/16083.html

This subheadline defines the problem:

For Republicans, the Senate outlook is bad
Mississippi and other longtime strongholds could go Democratic this fall. Obama's candidacy is a boost.
http://www.latimes.com/news/politics/la-na-se...

Christian pollster George Barna explains why McCain is doomed:

VENTURA POLLSTER: Likely Obama landslide
...Barna said Sen. Obama had taken a 50-35 percent lead over Sen. McCain, and that to win McCain would have to “sweep all these undecided votes — and then some.” Barna added that this is a “particularly remote” possibility because most of the undecided among likely voters are already leaning toward Obama.

...53 percent of Obama voters believe their man will win, while only 31 percent of McCain voters expect the same of their candidate. Many of those McCain voters, Barna said, will never show up at the polling booth....

... McCain has lost more than 20 percent support to Obama among a wide range of groups that voted Republican in 2004, including men (22 percent), residents of the South (22 percent), conservatives (20 percent) and “downscale” adults (54 percent).....

“The Christian community in the U.S. has largely shifted its loyalty to the Democratic nominee in this year’s race,” Barna declared.

...no scenario of a McCain victory at more than a 13 percent probability.

The chance of an Obama landslide?

32 percent.

In March 2006, Obama traveled to Connecticut to campaign for Lieberman and referred to him as “his mentor” while urging people to vote and support Lieberman. It isn't only Obama who plays both sides of the field.

Yes, the lesser of two evils still gets the vote. That is I think true for all of us. Be truthful, would any of us script the election this way if we had the choice? I know I would not. This country is hurting for a viable third party. We are ripe for that kind of change.

Let's see, here are the two choices:

DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATE: John McCain

MARXIST CANDIDATE: B Hussein Obama

I prefer a libertarian based candidate based on individual freedom. However, the best candidate here is McCain.

The Keating 5, now thats a Funny one, McCain was cleared and a Democrat Lawyer who represented him said it was a Political Witch Hunt, the true concern with the keating 5 were the 4 guilty as Heck Democrats!

Poor Judgement pattern, I ask, does Obama have a good one?? Wright Ayres and the list goes on. His stand os the ONLY representative in Illinois to vote Against Medical care for those Babies who have survived Late term Abortions and are BORN Alive, he would DENY A HUMAN BEING Medical Care! Poor Judgement, Instead of Change, Poor Judgement should be Obama's campaign Slogan as then he would be at least finally Honest!

McCain is not a good Candidate, but Obama make him look Great!

And BTW, how do you Turst??

SOCIAL CONSERVATIVES ARE JUST STUPID. After years of broken promises from republicans they continue to support them. Continue to vote for big corporate interest that are robbing them blind, polluting their environment, making their children sick, and bankrupting the country. All because they are afraid of gay people and woman's rights (ie. sex).

Here is a clue for the losers: war, poverty, greed, selfishness, hunger, sickness are NOT family values.

John McCain continues to show daily that he is lacking in judgement and temperament.
Not only his decisions in health care and the number of lower income people that will suffer. Not only his change in opinion on oil drilling, now siding with Bush. Not only his continued support of the Iraq war and completely forgetting to mention the destruction and death that we now face in the war in Afgahnistan.
Also, don't forget his temper that he brings along with him. McNasty in 1992, just because his wife mentioned his thinning hair line, he responded in anger, "At least I don't plaster on the makeup like a trollop, you c??t".(Is that what he really thinks of women!)
Then his comment about Chelsea Clinton. At a fund raiser in 1998 (Chelsea was still a child), he said "Do you know why Chelsea Clinton is so ugly?" "Because Janet Reno is her father." He actually thought this was funny.
He had "scuffles",fist to cuffs and used names like "sh??thead" "f???ing jerk" and flat out told "f??? you" to several individuals during his political carer and military career. To name a few: Strom Thurmond, Chuck Grassley, Rick Rezni.
By the way, Rick Rezni, is co-chair of the McCain Camp in Arizona and is under indictment for fraud, extorian, money laundering, etc. and when McCain was asked if he was still involved in his campaign. He said, "I don't know, It doesn't matter." Of course, it matters.
Social conservatives cannot be so blind to all this. I don't think they'll vote for Obama so I don't think they'll vote at all.

I agree.

Obama is so naive and foolish that Conservatives have little choice but to vote for McCain and take solace in his Pro-Life, lower tax and better potential Supreme Court nominations than the Jimmy Carter clone.

Have any of you seen Obama's little marxist kids on CNN?

talking about how they are looking forward to changing their rooms in the white house...see obamatons? even his little commie kids are looking forward to running up the national debt and spend our hard earn tax money.

Obama and his marxist elitist kids must STAY OUT of the white house.

for the sake of the nation.
