Attack the Christians

Thanks to all of you atheists who seem to target Christianity! Personally, I can't understand why you are drawn to post anything at all in a Christian discussion but suffice it to say you strengthen each Christian as you do. It only proves that we Christians are followers of truth. Satan uses everything he can in his attempt to destroy Christianity including clueless atheists that are easily called by him to spew forth all kinds of garbage. So from the bottom of my heart...Thanks for strengthening my belief in Christ!

Why must any discourse that questions your belief be an attack?

Just because someone does not believe in what you believe in does not mean you follow the truth.

I will stand and answer any questions on my belief. Why when I question or bring contradictory evidence about Christianity do I just get the run around or rudeness? These are public forums, if you don't want your belief questioned, talk somewhere else.

#5 Whether you like it or not...to quote you, youeself "These are public forums, if you don't want your belief questioned, talk somewhere else" So intend to express #1-4 with any attitude I please and if you interpret the attitude as rudeness then you probably are correct and that's really too bad. Seriously? I did not attack you, but I got the usual defensive response.

I love the way you assume you know my beliefs.

I did not give a single negative response to you, yet you attack me with childish quips. I asked a question, politely. I also reminded you that these are public forums and if you don't want what you believe talked about by non believers, this is not the place for it. Also, what I stated is fact, just because you believe in something does not make it the truth.

#2: The earth was created by the all powerful Flying Spaghetti Monster (Christians will tell you different because they are wrong and are being used by the "no carb" dieters)

I agree. Traveler, I am a Christian however I like to see what people are discussing in the Sci-tech section and it seems every topic is taken over by zealous nut bags. I can't understand that.

1) Since other people believe just as fervently in their deities, belief is obviously not proof of truth. There is no actual historic evidence that your jesus ever lived.
2) Until you can prove your deity exists, we are not wrong. The burden of proof is on the positive assertion--that there is a god. No one has to prove a negative.
3) Your opinion on anyone's motivations are strictly subjective. Prove the existence of satan before saying that someone else is following him.
4) This is the equivalent fo a three year old sticking his fingers in his ear and shouting so he can't hear something he finds disagreeable.
5) I wouldn't be accusing anyone else of having a damaged psyche based on what you have posted...

It would seem to me that anyone secure in his beliefs would not feel threatened by anyone's else's beliefs. Why would you even notice or care?

Also, the term christianity itself is not your own domain; otherwise you would not make it a christian vs. atheist game. Anyone following Christ is a Christian....it is not the sole domain of born agains, although they do like to appropriate the term for themselves.

So that means you have a whole spectrum of people in between who are Christians but who may not agree with the fundamentalist sects of Christianity. That includes many you refer to as "atheist". That is a private matter between an individual and God and has nothing whatsoever to do with anyone else.

It's not up to us to decide who is a Christian any more than it is to decide who is an atheist or agnostic or somewhere in between. We're all at a different place along that road working at our own speed. All labels do is divide us, and that's not what Christ intended. He meant for us to learn to get along in this world with those who don't agree with us....THAT'S the real test of a Christian...not merely announcing that you're Christian and using it as a club against others.

But the anti-Theists of Darwinian scientism are incapable of "seeing" since one must be born again to see reality correctly.

Most of these hateful closed-minded twits are just young and naive. But thank God, that life has a way of making even the most arrogant and blind of fools humble. There are christians who have no problem with evolution and Darwin. Hell, they taught it in my catholic school back int he 60's and 70's.

You talk about being anti-intellectual and then expound the glories of being "born again"--a state of mind solely dependent on emotionalism. You dismiss science in favor of faith--that is about as anti-intellectual as one can be.

No offense but why don't you only post in the Christianity section instead of the top stories section? That way, you can speak with those of a like mind with less ridicule.

And I must say that in my attempts to be polite and simply have a discussion, I am called evil, sick, depraved, and "wrong" when I said nothing of the kind. Perhaps respect needs to be learned on both ends.

Hi Jeff,
I won't stay in this one too long... just wanted to let you know that I, too, am a Christian. I would honestly love if everyone became a Christian. However, it doesn't work like that. 1- We are all created in God's image.
2- God gave us free will.
3- Jesus, early in His ministry, went out to the Gentiles. He did not go to pick fights and start trouble.

Hope you see where I'm going with this. I know all about the wrath of God and I have a very healthy fear and respect for/of my Heavenly Father. But I also live with His mercy every day. That He would accept me new every day is beyond my comprehension! I feel called to do the same for others...

Please show some of God's love?

I am at the polar opposite of your belief - but the VERY LEAST I - and any person, regardless of ideology - should do is treat one another with respect and kindness. The VERY MOST would be LOVE... I see no reason why not the latter...
