1 Please do not allow the use of the Oval Office as a means for bad behavior akin to that on a scale found in high school lockerrooms. Time would be better spent watching the accounting of the Enron types of the nation. Common sense 101-Return some integrity to America. |

2 Seems like the only "racial overtones" keep being generated by the liberals. Obama has been given pretty much a free pass on his racist affiliations and terrorist connections. Perhaps it's time to look into these in more detail? Then, perhaps, a peek into his finances? This man has made nothing. He has prospered off of handouts and bribes thinly veiled as transactions. He has yet to show any substance. Just another empty shirt with a set of repetitive talking points designed to woo the stupid sheep. |

2 http://www.nytimes.com/2008/10/11/us/politics ... "The report says she knowingly “permitted Todd Palin to use the governor’s office and the resources of the governor’s office, including access to state employees, to continue to contact subordinate state employees in an effort to find some way to get Trooper Wooten fired.” Further, it says, she “knowingly permitted a situation to continue where impermissible pressure was placed on several subordinates in order to advance a personal agenda.” Three years ago, Trooper Wooten and the governor’s sister, Molly McCann, were locked in a harsh divorce and child-custody battle that further turned the Palin family against him. The couple divorced in January 2006. As a result of several complaints against Trooper Wooten, he was suspended from the state police force for five days. However, Mr. Branchflower’s report found numerous instances in which Ms. Palin, her husband and her subordinates tried to press for harsher punishment, even though Mr. Monegan and others told them they had gone as far as the law and civil service rules would allow. |

2 I hope to God you were being sarcastic or making some poor attempt at a joke, but it wasn't funny. When Sarah Palin was Mayor of Wasilla, women who were victims of rape were forced to pay for their own rape examinations. Oh, and did you forget that if she had her way she would change the laws to force that rape victim to give birth to her rapist's child 9 months later (in the interest of "promoting a culture of life")? Say what you will about her being good for women in general (a point with which I respectfully disagree), but her record does not show she would be good for victims of abuse. |

1 No Maxine, that would be reporting something thought up by right wing AM radio shock jocks. The pertinent story is the one of Palin having broken the Alaska Ethics Law. She was found guilty by her own people in Alaska. With her 80% popularity, how can you morons claim it was a witch hunt?? Her witch doctor pastor Muthee is in Kenya. Maybe he needs to lay hands on Sarah to free her of these 'witches'. You need a checkup from the neckup. |

2 Oh, you're right. The police chief in her town was doing it, and she did nothing to stop it. http://www.factcheck.org/askfactcheck/did_sar... That makes me feel a lot better about her leadership abilities. Sos he can claim she did nothing or she didn't know what was going on with the police department of the town she was running. That tactic is almost less distasteful than what we're seeing today in that, when an investigation initiated in a bipartisan manner finds she acted unethically, she claim that the investigation was politically motivated. In fact, now it seems that every time something negative gets reported about her or John McCain, they just attack the messenger (whoever that may be) rather than respond to the report itself. |

2 That is a lie, which makes you a liar. Check this video: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/10/10/pali... """The Wasilla Project covers the Sarah Palin rape kit controversy, interviewing several Alaskans who add to the case that she knew of the policy of charging victims for their own rape kits. Eric Croft, the Democratic lawmaker who worked to overturned the practice, says its hard to believe Palin didn't know about it. Dr. Colleen Murphy, a former member of the Alaska Violent Crimes Compensation Board, says she was approached by rape victims who had been charged for their exams. Wasilla Project points out that while Palin said that it would be "crazy" to charge rape victims for their forensic exams, she never denied that her hometown did so while she was mayor. A Wasilla City Council member (once a Republican, now an independent) wonders why Palin's mayoral administration couldn't cover the cost of rape kits when, according to reports, she redecorated her office several times.""" Quit spreading lies, you right wing jerk!! Now Sarah has been found guilty of abuse of office. The hits keep coming!! |

1 And yet she didn't fire trooper Wooten. She fired the public safety commissioner Walter Monegan. And before you or anyone else says that she could fire Monegan whenever she wants, She can't. She can't fire an employee for improper reasons. For those of you living in Connecticut who read the Courant regularly, I would point you to Jeremy Shingleton's (yes, a Democrat) actions in Cromwell as a similar case of abuse of this power. |

I don't think that all of the opposition to Obama is racist, but there are those who will vote against him because his father was black. I just hope that the rest of them don't hate him for being part Irish. |
