Mediator proposes 'Northern Macedonia' as compromise in name dispute - media reports

Greece's RED line:

(1) Change its constitutional name to a name for ALL uses;
(2) if the new name includes the word Macedonia (in any form or language), it should be a CLEAR distinction between Skopje and the Greek region of Macedonia that everybody in the world will know and respect -- no tricks, no ambiguity;
(3)the nationality and language of the inhabitants of Skopje will be named consistently with the new name and definitely they are NOT going to be called "Macedonian" (in any language) because the Slav-Macedonians are only a minority of the people that call themselves "Macedonian" and they do NOT represent the Greek Macedonians;
(4)The UN security council will endorse the new name and will guarantee its implementation;
(5)Skopje will agree to stop all propaganda, claims and hostility towards Greece.

They don't even deserve the Northern macedonia. East Albania sounds better.

I like your breakdown of the resolution, and believe if there is going to be a dual Macedonian identity between Greece and FYROM (or possibly Northern Macedonia) then it must be distinguishable between each-other.
Makedonskies as a people is an option. As you mention their must be no tricks, thus no possibility of FYROM to claim historical and land interests of Greece in future. Good Work!

"Makedonski" should NOT be allowed because it means "Macedonian" in all Slavic languages. If the name of the country will be North Macedonia (a major concession by Greece), they should be called "North Macedonians" and their language "North Macedonian" or "Slav-Macedonian."

i understand yet if we re-access the situation and both sides acknowledge historical and political ownership (Greece's entitlement to Ancient Macedonia), then what grounds does Greece regardless of its most perfect outcome have from stopping these people from identifying themselves as Makedonskies not Macedonian, of Northern Macedonia which is part of the geographical region of Macedon?

Two presages British law firms have offered there services for FREE to represent the Republic of Macedonia against Greece in the world court to protect its name, they are 100% positive that they can win, but its all amateur of how long will it take, months or years, my self personally the longer it goes the more Greece’s name is dragged through the mud and the more truth comes out globally. I think it would be a great idea that when it all goes to court that we will need lots and lots of media coverage.

Nonsense is what Greece is proposing, it is proven by iGENEA genetic research that the Macedonian in the Republic of Macedonia are the real genetic ancestors, don’t you think they should be allowed to have their name and history with out having to fight for it?!

If legal will win and finalize this absurd fight over the name then that’s what needs to happen, all information then can be put on the table, every single peace of evidents from ancient time to present day and let the legal profession decide, better then we all fight over it!
